How Long Do You Cook Pork Kabobs On The Grill

These Grilled Apple and Pork Kabobs are a combination of simple ingredients that provide maximum flavor. Serve them over a bed of greens for a tasty Paleo and Whole30 summer meal.

Lately, I've been a bit obsessed with grilling apples. By simply brushing some apple slices with a little olive oil and tossing them on the grill, you can really amplify their sweetness.

That was my inspiration for these simple kabobs. I just paired some grilled apples with pork and onions (groundbreaking, I know) along with some spices that I always seem to have on hand.

But don't let the humble ingredients fool you; these kabobs deliver on flavor. They are a delightful combination of sweet, spicy, and savory.

I can't think of anything more perfect for grilling on a summer night.

What Cut of Pork is Best for Kabobs?

Pork tenderloin is really the cut of choice for kabobs because it cooks quickly while staying both tender and juicy.

If you don't have tenderloin on hand, boneless loin chops would be the next best option. I would marinate it for a longer period of time (around 8 hours) to make sure the meat doesn't dry out during grilling.

How to Make Grilled Apple and Pork Kabobs

Start by combining some olive oil, lime juice, chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, cayanne pepper, and sea salt together in a large bowl.

Mixing marinade

Add about 2 pounds of cubed pork tenderloin along with some chunks of apple and red onion to the bowl. Toss until everything is well coated.

marinating pork, apples, and onions

Cover the bowl and marinate in the refrigerator for at least an hour.

Meanwhile, if you're using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes before grilling.

(I've found that the best vessel in which to soak skewers is a large baking dish, which I then drain and use to hold the kabobs).

Thread alternating pieces of pork, apple, and onion onto the skewers.

Preheat the grill to medium high and lightly oil the grate.

Grill the kabobs for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the pork is cooked through and the apples are tender.
